Papeete, Tahiti

Today, we woke up early and were excited to take a 2 hour walking tour we found in a guidebook of downtown Papeete. Papeete is the capital city of French Polynesia, so it’s no surprise we were able to visit The Presidential Palace as seen below! This is the official headquarters of the President of French Polynesia.

Sweet graffiti downtown.

Visiting the Pearl Museum of Tahiti. Robert Wan is a big deal over here, known as the Emperor of Tahitian Pearls. Black pearls are all the craze!

The museum had several Madam Tousaud’s-quality wax figures wearing pearls in different points in human history.

Papeete’s main wharf/port, downtown, and park area.

After 6pm in the main square by the wharf, food trucks fill up the parking lot. There were as many as 15 trucks who came fully equipped with dining tables and all! We enjoyed a Chinese specialities food truck meal for sunset. 🌅🍴
